CHRISTY PINHOLSTER

Senior Architect, Principal

Christy Pinholster is originally from Taylorsville, KY and attended the University of Kentucky College of Architecture, graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor’s of Architecture. While in college, she studied abroad in Venice, Italy for a semester, which solidified her love for travel. She has 28 years of experience in the field and has been with DKN since 2015. As a Senior Architect and Principal, Christy specializes in large multi-family projects and senior living facilities. When asked her favorite project she said, “It’s not necessarily a favorite project, but a lesson in patience – a hotel renovation in Des Moines, Iowa that lasted 5 years.” In time, she would like to work on more projects that directly influence the lives of children. She is passionate about envisioning spaces of discovery for young minds.

In her free time, Christy enjoys horseback riding and traveling. She takes a couple of Saddle Seat lessons per week and has been showing in Academy Classes around the area. She participated in the 2022 Kentucky Spring Premier at the Kentucky Horse Park, placing 5th and in the 2021-2022 Winter Tournament Adult Intermediate WTC, winning High Point Reserve. In 2018 she spent a month by herself traveling to the Cook Islands and New Zealand. There, she did a two-day horseback ride in New Zealand through the rolling hills of the North Island.
